Head of Translation – Lead Arabic & English Services

About the role

The organization seeks a seasoned Head of Translation to oversee Arabic and English language services, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery across all business units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Translation Department, guaranteeing accurate and on-time translations.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of translators and language specialists.
• Establish and maintain quality-assurance standards and best-practice guidelines.
• Review and approve complex translations for accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance.
• Coordinate translation priorities with multiple business units and stakeholders.
• Design departmental processes, workflows, and performance metrics to boost efficiency.
• Ensure strict confidentiality when handling sensitive corporate documents.
• Drive continuous improvement through translation technologies and terminology management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Arabic, English or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of professional translation experience, including several years in a managerial or team-lead role.
• Native or near-native proficiency in both Arabic and English with excellent written communication.
• Proven track record of leading and developing translation teams.
• Strong organizational, stakeholder-management and project-management abilities.
• Experience in banking, legal, government or large corporate environments is an advantage.
