Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, ensuring guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail and effective communication with both housekeeping staff and other hotel departments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping attendants and assigned colleagues.
• Allocate work assignments and ensure adequate staffing based on occupancy and operational needs.
• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas and other assigned zones to verify cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Ensure rooms are cleaned, serviced and released according to hotel procedures.
• Coordinate room status with the Front Office, handling priorities, discrepancies and special requests.
• Monitor guest requests, complaints and special arrangements, ensuring timely resolution.
• Enforce SOPs, hygiene standards, safety procedures and hotel policies among housekeeping staff.
• Conduct regular inspections, provide feedback and coaching to team members.
• Report maintenance defects and follow up with Engineering for prompt resolution.
• Manage the proper use, storage and inventory of cleaning chemicals, equipment, linen, amenities and other supplies.
• Maintain accurate records, checklists and departmental documentation.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with Front Office, Engineering, Security and other departments.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene regulations applicable to hotel housekeeping.

Required skills

• Familiarity with housekeeping standard operating procedures.
• Understanding of proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Experience with inventory control of linen, amenities and housekeeping supplies.
