Inclusion Teacher (SEN) – Permanent Position

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Inclusion Teacher to lead a specialised classroom for students with additional learning needs. This permanent position involves delivering high‑quality, adapted instruction and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead an Inclusion classroom, tailoring lessons, materials and activities to diverse learning profiles.
• Apply evidence‑based SEN teaching strategies that promote engagement, independence, communication and social development.
• Maintain a safe, structured environment with clear routines and positive relationships.
• Assess, monitor and document student progress using SEN assessment tools, observational notes and formative/summative measures.
• Develop, review and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the Inclusion Coordinator, teachers, parents and specialists.
• Adapt curriculum content and assessments to ensure accessibility for all students.
• Collaborate closely with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, behaviour specialists and learning support assistants.
• Promote a culture of inclusion, empathy and respect across the school community.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering adapted teaching for students with additional learning needs.
• Strong knowledge of evidence‑based SEN strategies and assessment tools.
• Experience developing, implementing and reviewing IEPs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and subject teachers.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
