Inclusion Teacher (SEN) – Permanent Role

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Inclusion Teacher (Special Educational Needs) to lead a dedicated inclusion classroom. You will deliver high‑quality, adapted teaching that meets the diverse learning profiles and developmental needs of students requiring additional support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead an Inclusion classroom, tailoring instruction, materials and activities for students with additional learning needs.
• Apply evidence‑based SEN teaching strategies to promote engagement, independence, communication and social development.
• Create a safe, structured, supportive learning environment with clear routines and positive relationships.
• Collaborate with subject teachers and support staff to embed inclusive practice across all learning settings.
• Assess, monitor and document student progress using SEN assessment tools, observational notes and formative/summative measures.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviour data, interventions and student needs.
• Contribute to the development, review and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) alongside the Inclusion Coordinator, teachers, parents and specialists.
• Adapt curriculum content, learning activities and assessments to ensure accessibility for all learners.
• Work closely with Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Specialists and Learning Support Assistants to embed therapeutic recommendations into classroom routines.
• Promote a culture of inclusion, empathy and respect throughout the school community.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering differentiated instruction for learners with diverse needs.
• Strong knowledge of SEN assessment tools and IEP development.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external specialists.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
