Information Security Internship (6 months)

About the role

Qalco Energy is looking for a motivated Information Security Intern to join its IT and operations teams for a six‑month period. This role offers a hands‑on experience in protecting data, assessing risks, and supporting incident response within a dynamic oil and lubricants environment.

Key responsibilities

• Triaging and investigating low‑to‑medium priority alerts from anti‑malware and monitoring systems.
• Auditing and mapping corporate hardware, software assets, and user access lists.
• Assisting in the creation, formatting, and updating of security documentation and guidelines.
• Helping design internal phishing simulation campaigns and drafting security newsletters for staff.
• Tracking software patch compliance and supporting basic vulnerability scanning.
• Performing additional technical or project‑based tasks as directed by the security supervisor.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals and operating systems.
• Familiarity with the CIA Triad, common cyber threat vectors and standard security controls.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent written communication.
• Valid QID, eligible to work in Qatar for the internship duration, and residing within commuting distance of Doha.
