IT Security Specialist

About the role

The IT Security Specialist will act as the custodian of the organization’s information security policies, ensuring they are effectively implemented and regularly reviewed. You will work closely with the IS manager, internal auditors, and various technology teams to protect the company’s digital assets.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and periodically review information security policies and procedures.
• Liaise with IS manager and internal auditors on security governance and audit remediation.
• Manage the IT security budget and oversee cloud and on‑premises security devices.
• Monitor access logs, conduct data audits, backups, and network activity analysis.
• Research emerging threats, perform intrusion detection, and respond to security incidents.
• Configure, maintain, and test security platforms such as firewalls, anti‑virus, anti‑spam, IDS/IPS, and SIEM tools.
• Perform periodic security assessments of applications and infrastructure.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH (preferred).
• Experience with security governance, audit compliance, and budget management.

Required skills

• Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
• Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools
• Network monitoring and Computer Network Defense (CND) tools
• Wireshark, Nessus Pro, Kali Linux, Burp Suite, Nmap, advanced port and IP scanning
• Firewalls, anti‑virus, anti‑spam solutions
• Vendor technologies: Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Barracuda (preferred)
