Kitchen Commis – Food Safety & Preparation

About the role

The Kitchen Commis supports the Head Chef and the culinary team by ensuring food safety, proper storage, and timely preparation of meals for restaurants, banquets and special functions. This full‑time position is based on‑site in Doha and focuses on maintaining high standards of hygiene, cost control and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor food safety, temperature records, HACCP and ISO 22000 compliance at all times.
• Maintain correct food handling, storage standards and inventory management to minimise waste.
• Prepare daily restaurant requisitions, lunch and dinner buffets, and supplies for special functions.
• Ensure cleanliness of work areas, refrigerators and freezers.
• Control costs through portion control, proper storage and minimising spoilage.
• Report equipment issues and assist with internal training sessions.
• Support smooth operation of the section during line‑manager absences.

Required profile

• Graduate from a reputable culinary college or institute (desirable).
• 1‑2 years of experience in a kitchen environment.
• Familiarity with HACCP, ISO 22000 and food‑safety standards.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; Arabic is a plus.
• Good time‑management, organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
