Lead Contract Engineer – EPL

About the role

The Lead Contract Engineer EPL is responsible for establishing and supervising contract processes across interdisciplinary teams, ensuring all contractual documentation aligns with North Oil Company standards and regulatory requirements. This senior position also mentors contract engineers and drives continuous improvement in contract management practices.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the production of contractual documentation in line with company procedures and ethics.
• Introduce and enforce contract practices and procedures in cooperation with partner entities.
• Lead the preparation, issuance, and management of tenders, pre‑qualification, and contract award processes.
• Validate contract strategies, define target prices, and set evaluation criteria.
• Oversee the creation of commercial and technical contract documents, ensuring compliance with HSE clauses and applicable legislation.
• Manage claims settlement, negotiations, and liaison with legal, insurance, and finance departments.
• Monitor ongoing contract performance, renewals, amendments, and supplier performance.

Required profile

• BSc degree in a scientific or commercial field (or equivalent).
• 8‑10 years of post‑graduate experience, with at least 6 years in contracts and 2 years as a Senior Contract Engineer within the oil & gas industry.
• Proven ability to lead and develop contract engineering teams.
• Strong analytical thinking, accountability, and adaptability.

Required skills

• C&P tools – advanced certification.
• Contract management software and technical competency in contract preparation.
