Lead Engineer - Qatar Executive Aircraft

About the role

This virtual recruitment event advertises a Lead Engineer position for the Qatar Executive (QE) aircraft, based in Doha. The role is directly responsible for the serviceability and airworthiness of the QE aircraft in line with QCAA regulations and QR standards, ensuring timely and high-quality scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, direct and manage resources and shift resources so that leave, training and absence are covered and shift coverage is optimal.
• Carry out scheduled, unscheduled maintenance and defect rectification to the required standard, and issue Certificates of Release to Service in line with TPM, QE, CPM and other procedures.
• Manage the aircraft technical team and be accountable for the performance of the group under supervision.
• Advise the Maintenance Manager of issues that could affect the aircraft, especially cabin system serviceability.
• Release work only after confirming it meets QE standards and targets such as aircraft availability, system reliability and acceptable deferred defects.
• Review work procedures, equipment and standards and propose improvements; implement solutions to technical problems within scope.
• Help other QE departments define and prepare maintenance work packages, and document maintenance activities in line with company policy.
• Work with OEMs, vendors and suppliers to solve defects, and train and develop other employees for succession planning and risk management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 6 years of job-related experience.
• Licensed engineer able to hold at least one QE aircraft type authorization.
• Recognized diploma in aircraft trade.
• ICAO mechanical or avionics license, preferably EASA; recognized aircraft type rating, preferably for an aircraft operated or planned to be operated by QE.
• Previous supervisory experience in line and base maintenance.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance fundamentals for the area of employment.
• Sound knowledge of air legislation.
