Lead Specialist, National Talent Development

About the role

The Lead Specialist, National Talent Development will drive Commercial Bank’s nationalisation agenda by designing, delivering and overseeing training, coaching and mentoring programmes for Qatari talent. The role ensures that new joiners, leaders and student placements receive effective induction and development support, aligning workforce capabilities with the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the National Development Programme Unit Head in managing and implementing national development initiatives.
• Design, deliver and monitor new‑joiner and leader induction programmes, as well as student work‑placement schemes.
• Review progress of Qatari nationals and recommend appropriate functional placements or training.
• Collaborate with line managers to enhance career development pathways for national talent.
• Monitor performance‑management processes to ensure alignment with development targets.
• Establish and maintain talent‑management frameworks, tools and a national talent pool.
• Conduct periodic talent reviews, succession planning and prepare the annual National forum.
• Develop and implement leadership and technical training programmes in line with the bank’s strategy.
• Create and oversee internal coaching and mentoring strategies to promote knowledge sharing.
• Ensure compliance with policies, risk, audit and regulatory requirements across all development activities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in talent development, training or coaching within a large corporate or banking environment.
• Strong understanding of nationalisation programmes and Qatari workforce development.
• Proven ability to design and deliver induction, leadership and technical training programmes.
• Experience working closely with line managers and senior HR leaders.
• Knowledge of performance‑management, career planning and succession processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to develop policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
