Lifeguard

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, self‑motivated Lifeguard to join our recreation team at Centro Capital Doha, operated by Rotana. The successful candidate will ensure the safety of guests in the swimming area, maintain pool standards, and provide excellent guest service in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor swimming activities, caution guests about unsafe areas and rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
• Administer first aid and provide emergency care until medical services arrive.
• Test and maintain water quality, including chlorine and pH levels, using a water‑testing kit.
• Keep the pool, deck, sun loungers and umbrellas clean, correctly positioned and in good working order.
• Conduct swimming meets, give swimming instructions and ensure the pool temperature meets standards.
• Maintain order on the pool deck, remove debris and secure umbrellas when not in use.
• Know the club’s facilities, timings, promotions and prices to assist guests.

Required profile

• Professional swimming ability and a qualified lifeguard certification.
• Diploma or university degree with previous experience, preferably in the hotel industry.
• Physically fit, able to work long hours outdoors.
• Good command of English and strong interpersonal skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude, able to handle complaints and work under pressure.

Required skills

• Pool water testing (chlorine and pH measurement).
• First aid and CPR.
• Lifeguard rescue techniques.
• Swimming instruction and pool safety management.
