Malayalam QA Specialist – Remote

About the role

This hourly, remote contractor position focuses on leading quality assurance for Malayalam AI training projects. You will evaluate AI‑generated Malayalam content, guide trainers, and ensure that all deliverables meet strict linguistic and cultural standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated Malayalam text and trainer/QA work against detailed project rubrics.
• Provide precise written feedback in English to improve accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, and cultural appropriateness.
• Identify recurring quality issues, communicate updates to trainers and QAs, and maintain documentation such as style guides and FAQs.
• Support onboarding of new contributors and activate those with inconsistent performance.
• Maintain trackers, dashboards, and other quality documentation using remote collaboration tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Malayalam, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Malayalam with strong reading and writing skills.
• Excellent command of English for following guidelines and delivering feedback.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Malayalam writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, annotation, or related language‑review workflows.
• Deep understanding of Malayalam grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, regional variation, and cultural context.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, or QAs is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working in fast‑moving remote environments using collaboration and project‑management tools.
