Massage Therapist

About the role

A full-time, non-management Massage Therapist position at a Le Méridien spa in Lusail, Qatar. The therapist provides massage and body treatments to guests, assesses their needs and contraindications, and promotes spa services while keeping the workplace safe and tidy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide massage services using props and/or products, and body treatments using scrubs, wraps and/or hydrotherapy.
• Assess guest needs and ask about contraindications such as allergies, high blood pressure and pregnancy before starting.
• Keep up to date with current techniques and modalities in the field.
• Escort guests to and from treatment rooms, arrange workstations, rooms and drapes, and check frequently with guests to promote comfort, safety and security.
• Promote and sell spa and salon services, including retail offerings.
• Clean, maintain and sterilize tools, keep the workspace tidy, dispose of trash and dirty linens, and secure supplies at the end of each shift.
• Follow the time schedule, handle inappropriate guest behaviour according to Marriott International procedures, and report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager.
• Maintain current skills and licensure, follow company policies, keep a professional appearance, and protect confidential information.

Required profile

• State or regional massage license or certification.
• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods and to lift objects up to 10 pounds.
• Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
• Professional communication and customer service.
