Master (Ship Captain) – Offshore Vessel

About the role

The Master holds overall authority for the health, safety and environmental protection of all personnel aboard Telford Offshore’s vessel operating out of Doha, Qatar. This senior seafaring role requires decisive leadership, strict adherence to the company’s Safety Management System and the ability to navigate complex offshore operations safely.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enforce the company’s Safety Management System and related policies.
• Ensure compliance with Flag State, Classification Society and local regulations.
• Oversee vessel planning, organization, and control of all onboard activities.
• Maintain planned maintenance and routine checks for safety equipment, engines, cranes and dynamic positioning systems.
• Verify that all crew members hold appropriate qualifications and certifications, and conduct familiarisation and performance appraisals.
• Supervise safety committees, inspections and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Direct safe navigation of the vessel during transit and while on station.

Required profile

• Valid Master’s licence and relevant maritime certifications.
• Proven experience in offshore vessel command.
• Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to lead, motivate and communicate clearly with a diverse crew.
