Mechanical Commissioning Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer will ensure that HVAC, chilled water, pumping and ventilation systems are installed and operate according to design specifications. This role involves planning, testing, and documenting system performance before handover.

Key responsibilities

• Review approved drawings, specifications, equipment submittals and installation readiness for mechanical building services.
• Prepare commissioning plans, method statements, test procedures and inspection checklists.
• Conduct pre‑commissioning checks, functional performance tests and verify controls and BMS interfaces.
• Coordinate testing, site inspections and consultant witnessing with contractors, TAB teams and equipment vendors, tracking deficiencies through rectification and retesting.
• Prepare commissioning reports, maintain test records and support final inspections, O&M documentation and system handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in testing and commissioning on construction projects involving mechanical building services.
• Practical knowledge of HVAC equipment, chilled water systems, pumps, ventilation and associated controls.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and prepare commissioning documentation.
