Mechanical Inspector (API Certified)

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Inspector with expertise in in-service inspection of oil and gas process facilities, based in Doha, Qatar. The role covers pressure vessels, piping and storage tanks, and requires familiarity with QatarEnergy permit-to-work systems and HSE standards at Mesaieed Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in-service inspections of oil and gas process facilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Inspect pressure vessels, piping systems and storage tanks in line with API 510, API 570 and API 653.
• Evaluate the integrity of pressure relieving devices and mechanical equipment.
• Use conventional and in-service NDT techniques to detect flaws and anomalies.
• Review and interpret inspection reports, welding procedures and material specifications.
• Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy PTW and ePTW requirements.
• Carry out risk-based inspections, recommend corrective actions and maintain inspection records and reports.
• Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams and follow HSE policies.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor's degree in a mechanical discipline.
• 10 years of oil and gas experience for diploma holders, or 5 years for Bachelor's graduates.
• Proven in-service inspection experience and hands-on knowledge of pressure relieving devices.
• Mandatory API 510, API 570 and API 653 certifications, held for at least 3 years; mandatory CSWIP 3.1 certification.
• Valid Level II NDT certification and ability to pass QatarEnergy PTW requirements.
• Knowledge of HSE policies as per Mesaieed Operations QatarEnergy guidelines.

Required skills

• Understanding of API, ASME and other relevant standards.
• Mechanical integrity assessments, failure analysis, RBI and FFS analysis.
• Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills in English.
