Mechanical Senior Supervisor - Typhoon Aircraft Maintenance

About the role

The Mechanical Senior Supervisor reports to the On Aircraft Depth Team Leader and carries out detailed maintenance, inspection and supervision activities on the Typhoon aircraft or its components during primary, minor and major aircraft servicings. The post holder must be able to derive diagnostic techniques, understand the approved technical data set and supervise maintenance in line with the organisation's regulatory framework.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake detailed maintenance, inspection and supervision on the Typhoon and its components, including ground handling, flight servicing, role changes, repairs, modifications, fault rectification and testing
• Resolve faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management, and raise ad hoc work cards for found faults
• Maintain personal task authorisations and ensure maintenance is scheduled and escalated where needed
• Supervise the team, guide less experienced members and develop them through formal assessments such as PDRs and on-the-job training
• Ensure staff are competent and authorised, and that Part 145 activities are documented and airworthiness records kept
• Manage compliance with the Part 145 Exposition, safety management, statutory requirements (ITAR, EaPW, ISO) and contractual obligations
• Support audits, manage audit findings and drive improvements across the team

Required profile

• Completion of the Typhoon Avionic Trade 'Q' course
• Engineering apprenticeship, ideally aeronautical or military equivalent; minimum City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance
• Aircraft platform training (on aircraft requirement)
• At least 2 years at supervisor level before a senior role, with a log book of skills, knowledge and authorities
• Broad product knowledge, understanding of team integration and continuous improvement
• Desirable: risk assessment, SHE, E&Pw, ITAR, fire, leadership and human factors courses
