Mechanical Technician (Turbomachinery Major)

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Technician (major: Turbomachinery) in Doha. The role covers mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on continuous-operation plants, including pumps, blowers, compressors, turbines, valves, vessels, columns, exchangers and pipes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot rotating and static mechanical equipment in continuous-operation plants.
• Install, remove, fix back and maintain pumps, blowers, compressors, fans, turbines, valves, vessels, columns, exchangers, pipes and other static equipment.
• Carry out maintenance independently and handle tools and work at height with proper safety equipment.
• Check work quality, take corrective action and follow isometric drawings, mechanical drawings and datasheets.
• Clean, preserve and maintain removed parts, and keep records in the CMMS.
• Follow standard operating procedures and comply with OHS, quality, environment, Responsible Care, IFA Product Stewardship and energy management procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6 years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or fertilizer industry.
• Fluent reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English.
• Knowledge of hazardous chemicals and safe installation and maintenance practices.
• Good HSEQ record in previous work.
• Understanding of the permit-to-work (PTW) system and passing the company's PTW assessment.
