Network Security Consultant (Telecom)

About the role

A Network Security Consultant is sought in Doha, Qatar, with strong hands-on experience in firewall and security operations within the telecom domain. The role covers network security infrastructure, SD-WAN, customer protection, core network services and cloud security. It is a yearly-renewable contract.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and operate Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls, including rules, policies, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting and incident remediation.
• Administer security infrastructure such as FortiGate, FortiAuthenticator, FortiMail and FortiWeb.
• Support and optimise Fortinet/Huawei SD-WAN, including routing, traffic steering, application prioritisation, secure connectivity and hybrid cloud integration.
• Support enterprise and customer infrastructure protection and resolve network security incidents.
• Manage core services such as DNS, proxy, authentication and mail relay, ensuring availability, security and reliability.
• Support F5 load-balancing infrastructure and application delivery services.
• Support Azure network security, including Azure Firewall, NSGs, VNets, Application Gateway/WAF, Load Balancer, DNS and hybrid connectivity.
• Perform infrastructure health checks, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management and capacity management.
• Coordinate with NOC/SOC, Network, Cloud and IT teams to resolve incidents and maintain service availability.

Required profile

• 4-6 years of relevant network security operations experience; telecom domain experience is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with FortiGate, FortiAuthenticator, FortiMail, FortiWeb and Fortinet/Huawei SD-WAN.
• Experience with enterprise and customer network protection.
• Mandatory certifications listed on the CV: Fortinet NSE 4-7 or an applicable current equivalent, and Azure AZ-104, AZ-500 or AZ-700.
• Python scripting is an added advantage.
