Order Taker - Room Service

About the role

The Order Taker – Room Service is the first point of contact for guests who wish to enjoy in‑room dining at InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa. You will handle telephone orders, provide menu guidance, and ensure each guest receives prompt, courteous service that reflects the brand’s luxury standards.

Key responsibilities

• Answer all room‑service calls promptly, professionally, and courteously.
• Take guest orders accurately, demonstrating strong knowledge of the menu, promotions, ingredients, and allergens.
• Upsell menu items and suggest appropriate add‑ons to enhance the guest experience.
• Enter orders into the POS system and coordinate with the kitchen and service team to ensure timely preparation and delivery.
• Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints with professionalism and urgency.
• Complete billing and posting procedures accurately.
• Maintain clear communication with kitchen, stewarding, and service colleagues to support smooth operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Food & Beverage, Room Service, Call Center, or Guest Service is preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and telephone etiquette.
• Strong command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.

Required skills

• Familiarity with POS systems, preferably MICROS.
• Good computer literacy.
