Pastry Commis (Entry Level) – Luxury Hotel

About the role

Join the luxury hospitality team at Raffles & Fairmont Doha as a Pastry Commis 1. You will support the pastry department in creating high‑quality pastries, desserts and baked goods while maintaining the hotel’s standards of excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, baking, decoration and presentation of pastries and desserts according to recipes.
• Prepare ingredients, perform basic pastry techniques and maintain mise en place for daily production.
• Ensure high standards of food quality, hygiene, sanitation and proper storage of ingredients and finished products.
• Keep pastry equipment, workstations and storage areas clean and organized.
• Follow portion controls, production schedules, HACCP and other food‑safety procedures.
• Support the Pastry Chef and senior team members during regular service and special events.
• Minimize food waste through proper handling and portioning.

Required profile

• Previous experience or formal training in pastry or bakery is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen.
• Willingness to learn, take direction from senior chefs and work well in a team.
