Planning Engineer

About the role

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for budgeting, cost control and planning activities across BUTEC’s offices, plants and camps. The role ensures accurate cost allocation and supports the project team to maintain continuity and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update budgets, perform cost control, and produce cash‑flow analyses to highlight deviations.
• Analyze technical drawings to estimate material quantities and costs.
• Coordinate with level‑2 engineers to verify cost allocations and resolve high‑impact discrepancies.
• Support on‑site planning and cost‑control engineers, stepping in to fill gaps as needed.
• Monitor resource productivity, analyze unusual events, and suggest improvements for estimation and planning processes.
• Prepare regular reports on planning and cost deviations and propose optimisation measures.

Required profile

• Engineering degree with at least 5 years of experience as a planning engineer.
• Strong analytical, critical and logical thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Primavera (mandatory).
• Familiarity with PMP, RMP and Power BI (preferred).
