Postdoctoral Fellow in Biological Sciences

About the role

The Department of Biological Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar seeks a full‑time Postdoctoral Fellow to join a research laboratory in Doha. The appointment begins in August 2026, lasts one year and may be renewed for up to three years based on performance and funding.

Key responsibilities

• Lead experimental execution of the grant’s scientific objectives.
• Generate high‑impact peer‑reviewed publications.
• Present research findings at national and international conferences.
• Contribute to the preparation of follow‑on grant applications.
• Engage in cross‑institutional collaborations.
• Mentor undergraduate researchers and support their training.
• Assist with day‑to‑day laboratory management.

Required profile

• PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated research productivity through peer‑reviewed publications.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Experience in proteomics and bioinformatics analysis is highly desirable.
