Principal Instrumentation Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Principal Instrumentation Engineer to lead the Instrumentation & Control discipline on upstream offshore oil & gas projects. You will manage budgets, schedules, and staffing while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Plan man‑hour budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements, and cover for vacations and unplanned absences.
• Lead weekly Instrumentation & Control meetings, review progress reports, and supervise engineering assignments to meet time and budget targets.
• Develop and standardise equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
• Manage discipline deliverables, monitor risks and opportunities, and ensure quality assurance compliance with Worley Project Management Process.
• Participate in bid clarifications, vendor reviews, and final documentation approval.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years recent experience on offshore upstream projects, covering feasibility, FEED and EPC phases.
• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering from an accredited university.
• MME engineering accreditation (or willingness to obtain during probation).
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or pursuit is an advantage.

Required skills

• DCS, SIL 3, fire & gas (F&G) and emergency shutdown (ESD) systems.
• PA/GA control systems.
• Instrumentation and control engineering design and analysis.
• Quality assurance and risk management within project environments.
