Project Engineer - Oil & Gas

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is looking for a Project Engineer in Qatar within the oil and gas sector. The role covers planning, execution and post-order support of demanding and complex projects, with responsibility for results, deadlines, costs and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Create project planning: define the project scope, prepare the project plan and risk management with backup.
• Track progress against the plan so that milestones are met and deliverables meet quality standards.
• Lead projects from the start of the project (PO received) until the end of the warranty period.
• Collaborate with international customers, partners and subcontractors, and handle claims and change orders actively.
• Develop strategies and tactics for claims and negotiate them independently, and make statements on project results.
• Support post-order functions beyond specific projects and improve the contract management process to achieve KPIs.

Required profile

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience.
• Broad specialized expertise with ongoing training and up-to-date methods.
• Oil and gas experience is essential.
• Proficiency in English (speak, read and write).
• Ability to work under increased performance and time pressure.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of engineering principles related to process equipment or turbomachinery.
• Three-year commercial training or post-graduate degree in business administration.
• Familiarity with equipment and machinery, and legal understanding of contract implications.
• Certified knowledge of project management methods.
