Project Engineer - Typhoon Availability Service

About the role

The Project Engineer is responsible for carrying out Project Management activities across the Qatar In-Service Typhoon Availability Service Operation at Dukhan Airbase, Qatar, as CAM133. The role covers the technical delivery areas, gathering and analysing performance data (cost, resources and outputs), monitoring progress against plans and producing regular reports, including internal contract review packs and customer-facing material. It reports to the Project Management Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Project Management support to Dukhan delivery areas and run a subset of the Dukhan Business Rhythm, reviewing risk, opportunity, change and spend within CAM133.
• Coordinate OPR inputs for each delivery area and act as the operation's project management conscience, escalating issues and acting as critical friends to the delivery areas.
• Support the compilation of PM and contract artefacts into the SMT Business Rhythm reviews (e.g. Change Requests).
• Manage financial information for the allocated area to feed Contract Status Reports (CSR), and manage risks and opportunities (financial, quality, scope).
• Develop and maintain integrated program schedules for non-recurring work, and measure delivery against the contract, advising on contractual compliance for both BAE Systems and the QEAF.
• Manage resource manpower (cost, resource planning, capacity modelling) and coordinate against internal and contractual KPIs.
• Act as an interface with junior officers in the QEAF and support reviews such as OPR, QCR, QBR, risk and opportunity, Change Control Boards and customer PRMs.
• Ensure compliance with the BAE Systems governance framework (Life Cycle Management, Business Continuity, Incident Management, Gifts and Hospitality, Export Control, SHE).

Required profile

• L6 Project Management degree (complete or in progress), or extensive practical knowledge gained through experience.
• Fluent spoken and written English; Arabic is desirable.
• Experience in an operational aircraft support environment is preferred.
• Good analytical skills, stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.

• High-level MS Office knowledge.
• Commercial, contractual and purchasing process awareness, and export control awareness.
• Desirable: JIRA, Confluence and Tableau.
