Public Relations Officer (Qatar)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a proactive Public Relations Officer to manage communication between the project team, residents, and public authorities for a construction project in Qatar. The role focuses on handling public inquiries, complaints, and ensuring smooth stakeholder interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Open and maintain dialogue with the public, residents, municipalities, MOI, traffic police, government departments, and embassies.
• Receive, translate, proofread, and edit documents and emails in English and Arabic, preserving original meaning.
• Handle correspondence from clients and site teams, and liaise with technical staff to clarify project details.
• Conduct regular and ad‑hoc visits to affected residents, prepare reports, and provide feedback to clients.
• Coordinate with the construction supervision team to minimise inconvenience to the public.
• Document and resolve conflicts, feedback, and complaints related to construction activities.

Required profile

• University degree with at least 4 years of overall experience in public relations and communication.
• Minimum 3 years focused on public customer service, preferably in the construction sector.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Experience working in Qatar and a solid understanding of Qatari culture.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and manage public complaints effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating system.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and database software.
• Ability to use design software for creating communication materials.
