Purchasing Officer

About the role

The Purchasing Officer supports Marriott International’s food and beverage operations in West Bay, Doha by managing inventory, processing orders, and ensuring timely, accurate deliveries. This role combines hands‑on inventory control with vendor coordination to maintain optimal stock levels and uphold food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate inventory figures, orders, and costs for food items.
• Maintain organized records, post invoices, and reconcile shipping documents.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and complete requisition forms.
• Monitor stock levels, notify supervisors of low inventory, and track received goods.
• Receive, unload, and process deliveries; reject damaged or incorrect items.
• Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and manage return processes.
• Ensure compliance with food safety policies and monitor PAR levels.
• Report accidents, complete safety training, and follow company policies.
• Use computer systems and point‑of‑sale tools to enter and retrieve work‑related information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or a related field.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb and moving in confined spaces.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
