QA/QC Engineer (Civil & Structural)

About the role

A 36-month site contract for a QA/QC Engineer covering civil and structural works at a project in Mesaieed. The role ensures that quality requirements are implemented across construction sites, supplier facilities and subcontractor works, and coordinates contractors, subcontractors, vendors, third-party inspectors and QA/QC personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Review and support approval of QA/QC documentation such as Quality Plans, ITPs, QCPs, MARs and related quality records.
• Ensure project QA/QC requirements are followed at construction sites, supplier facilities and subcontractor works.
• Conduct surveillance and inspections of civil and structural works, and identify non-conformances, issue NCRs and follow corrective and preventive actions to close-out.
• Monitor material test certificates, construction dossiers, inspection records and material traceability; also preservation activities, calibration records and IMTE registers.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, vendors, third-party inspectors and QA/QC personnel.
• Take part in quality audits, compliance reviews, pre-qualification audits, quality walkthroughs and QA/QC meetings.
• Monitor quality KPIs, special processes, inspection activities and personnel performance.
• Support Quality Surveillance Programs, CMS, ITRs, TIV, FPD and PQHC programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognised university.
• IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in major Greenfield and Brownfield Oil & Gas, refinery, LNG/NGL, petrochemical or similar process plant projects.
• Experience with major EPC/EPCIC contractors and/or end users in a similar QA/QC role responsible for civil and structural works.
• Proven hands-on experience in survey, earthworks, concrete, grouting, structural foundations, structural steel, pipe racks, buildings, pavements and road works, and with civil laboratories, batching plants, concrete mix design and precast yards.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC requirements, testing requirements, acceptance criteria and inspection activities for civil and structural works.
• Hands-on experience preparing, reviewing and approving Quality Plans, ITPs, QCPs and MARs.
• Understanding of international codes and standards including QCS, ACI, AISC, BS, EN, ISO, ASTM and Shell DEP requirements.
• Experience managing inspection teams, quality surveillance programs, audits, quality management systems and discipline KPIs.
• Certifications from ASQ, CQI, ICE, ASCE or equivalent are advantageous.
