Radiation Protection Officer – Rope Access (12‑Month Fixed Term)

About the role

We are seeking a Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) to join our rope‑access crew in Doha on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The RPO will ensure safe execution of radiographic inspections, protect personnel, the public and the environment from radiation hazards, and comply with local regulations and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor radiation safety procedures, applying the ALARP principle at all times.
• Ensure availability, calibration and proper use of personal protective equipment and radiation monitoring devices.
• Manage the transportation of radioactive sources in accordance with local legislation and client specifications.
• Conduct regulatory reporting, quality control and accurate data collection for all radiographic activities.
• Perform risk assessments, observation cards and Take‑II checks before, during and after inspections.
• Supervise the safe set‑up of work areas, including permits, barricades and monitoring.
• Execute routine equipment and consumable function tests and report any issues.
• Wear and replace TLDs as required and ensure their proper return to the origin.
• Coordinate with clients, site supervisors and crew members to deliver inspections on schedule.
• Support additional tasks and projects as directed by management.

Required profile

• Relevant certification in radiation protection or radiography.
• Experience with rope‑access operations and non‑destructive testing.
• Knowledge of local radiation regulations and ALARP methodology.
• Ability to work safely in confined or elevated environments.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and reporting.
