Receiving Officer (Hotel)

About the role

The Receiving Officer ensures that all goods delivered to the hotel are accurately recorded, inspected, and stored according to hotel standards. This position works closely with the Purchasing Department and all operational areas to maintain smooth supply chain operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect all incoming goods, verifying items against purchase orders, delivery notes, and approved specifications.
• Check quantities, quality, condition, expiry dates, and specifications of each delivery.
• Prepare and process Goods Received Notes (GRNs) promptly and accurately.
• Report shortages, damages, incorrect items, or quality discrepancies to the Purchasing Department.
• Coordinate with all hotel departments regarding deliveries and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
• Follow hotel receiving procedures, hygiene standards, and company policies.
• Support inventory control by documenting all received items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional receiving area.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Receiving Officer, preferably in a 5‑star hotel or hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of hotel receiving and purchasing procedures.
• Understanding of purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, and inventory documentation.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple deliveries efficiently.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Birch Street system (preferred)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
