Retail Operations Manager

About the role

The Retail Operations Manager will lead the airport retail business, ensuring sales targets are met while delivering world‑class customer service. This senior position oversees all aspects of store performance, from merchandising to stock control, in line with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities and drive revenue growth.
• Manage overall retail operations at the airport to achieve the annual sales budget.
• Design and maintain shop layouts and merchandising displays.
• Resolve day‑to‑day operational issues quickly and efficiently.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with staff, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate scheduled stock counts and ensure accurate inventory records.
• Implement robust cash and stock security measures across shops, stores and warehouses.
• Oversee warehouse activities to ensure smooth inbound and outbound stock movements.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of retail experience, with at least 7 years in a similar operations role.
• Background in fast‑moving consumer goods or luxury brands; travel‑retail experience preferred.
• Strong sales focus and comprehensive knowledge of purchasing, marketing, promotions and store operations.
• Deep understanding of margins, pricing, retail IT systems, merchandising, stock layout, warehouse logistics and passenger traffic trends.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to implement strategic decisions and foster teamwork.
