Satellite Communications Field Service Representative

About the role

The Satellite Communications Field Service Representative (FSR) will support a Government client by installing, troubleshooting, and repairing the MWR Global Internet Connect Program (ICP) across deployed locations. This 24x7/365 position is based in Doha, Qatar, with frequent travel throughout Southwest Asia and occasional TDY assignments to Europe, Africa, and South America.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair VSAT, baseband, LAN, and wireless communication equipment in accordance with government standards.
• Perform inventory, testing, and modification of satellite and terrestrial internet hardware.
• Provide on‑call 24x7 onsite support, responding to trouble calls via convoys, MilAir, or commercial travel.
• Coordinate the introduction of new MWR ICP technologies and equipment.
• Document and brief technical findings to stakeholders as needed.

Required profile

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Ability to work independently or under general direction in deployed, high‑tempo environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with VSAT communication equipment.
• Knowledge of IP fundamentals, Cisco routing, and firewall technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft suite applications.
• Understanding of basic network protocols, LAN, and wireless troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with iDirect modem systems and cable network installations.
