School Librarian

About the role

The school librarian will lead the library’s daily operations, providing essential research support to students and staff while curating both physical and digital collections. This role plays a pivotal part in fostering a learning environment that encourages information literacy and lifelong learning.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of library operations, including acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, and preservation of resources.
• Assist students and faculty with research queries, guiding them to appropriate resources and teaching effective information‑seeking strategies.
• Design, promote, and deliver library programs, workshops, and events that enhance student engagement and support curriculum goals.
• Maintain and update the library’s digital platforms and physical collections, ensuring accessibility, relevance, and compliance with licensing agreements.

Required profile

• Degree in Library Science, Information Management, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience working in a school or academic library setting, demonstrating an understanding of educational needs.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, diversity, equity, and inclusion as outlined in ISP’s core principles.
