School Nurse – International IB School

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a compassionate and qualified School Nurse to join Etqan Global Academy, an International Baccalaureate World School in Doha. The successful candidate will be responsible for the health, wellbeing and medical care of all students and staff, contributing to a safe and nurturing school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation of the school medical room, ensuring safety, cleanliness and adequate stock of supplies.
• Provide prompt first‑aid and nursing care to students and staff who are injured or unwell during the school day.
• Assess, monitor and respond to student health needs, referring to external providers or emergency services when required.
• Administer prescribed medication in line with individual healthcare plans, school policy and Qatar regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and individual healthcare plans, including allergy and chronic‑condition management.
• Support the school safeguarding team by identifying and reporting welfare concerns.
• Develop and deliver health‑education and wellbeing initiatives for all phases of the school.
• Communicate professionally with parents, staff and external medical providers regarding student health matters.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification (RN) with current registration with the NMC or an equivalent regulatory body.
• Paediatric nursing qualification or significant paediatric nursing experience.
• Current Paediatric First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) / AED certifications.
• Minimum 2 years post‑registration nursing experience, preferably in a paediatric or school setting.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child‑protection requirements in an international context.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; Arabic is desirable.
• Experience working in Qatar or the Middle East and knowledge of Qatar Ministry of Health regulations is a plus.
