Secondary Arabic Teacher

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking an experienced Secondary Arabic Teacher to join Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar. The school delivers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) and prepares students for IGCSE and IB Diploma examinations. You will be responsible for delivering a bespoke Arabic curriculum and fostering language proficiency across secondary levels.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver a tailored Arabic curriculum for IGCSE, post‑16 and IB Diploma levels.
• Prepare students for external examinations and monitor their progress against individualized targets.
• Develop language, literacy and communication fluency within each lesson.
• Create pathways for student advancement in Arabic, ensuring opportunities for success.
• Organise enrichment activities, visits and after‑school ECA programmes.
• Collaborate with colleagues, share best practices and act as an ambassador for the school and subject.

Required profile

• University degree or Higher Diploma in Arabic.
• Experience teaching Arabic in an international school setting.
• Proven experience teaching Arabic at post‑16, IB Diploma and IGCSE levels.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Teaching qualification from a face‑to‑face programme that meets Qatar visa requirements.
• Master’s degree or evidence of further professional development (desirable).
• Values‑led approach with strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and a positive attitude.
