Senior Accountant, General Ledger (GL)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with deep General Ledger expertise to join our Group Finance team in Qatar. The role focuses on managing GL operations, financial reporting, and project accounting for real‑estate and construction entities across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily General Ledger activities, including journal entries, account analysis and financial transactions.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing in compliance with IFRS.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet, bank reconciliations and account schedules.
• Handle intercompany accounting, reconciliations, confirmations and settlements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records for construction projects, real‑estate developments and operational entities.
• Support project accounting – cost allocation, construction expenses, WIP accounting and revenue recognition.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers, depreciation schedules, prepaid expenses and accrual accounts.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, variance analysis and audit schedules.
• Assist internal and external auditors with required documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of General Ledger accounting experience.
• Proven background in Real Estate, Construction, Property Development or Contracting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and month‑end closing processes.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA) is an advantage.

Required skills

• IFRS accounting standards.
• ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting.
