Senior Contracts & Category Analyst

About the role

The Senior Contracts & Category Analyst will support the Head of Category in shaping and executing contracting and procurement strategies across multiple categories such as Business Support, Maintenance Operations, Turnaround, Technical and CAPEX. The role ensures compliance, manages risks and drives cost‑efficiency while leading a team of Category Specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise contracting and procurement activities across the full need‑to‑pay cycle, including supplier pre‑qualification, tendering, contract establishment, capital procurement and logistics coordination.
• Review and approve tendering strategies, bid analyses, evaluation reports, negotiation approaches and contract documentation to ensure alignment with company policies and standards.
• Act as an active user of SAP, Ariba, Docusign, Sievo and other procurement IT systems.
• Lead complex sourcing events, tenders and negotiations, representing the Head of Category when required.
• Manage team performance through the Employee Performance Appraisal System (EPAS) and mentor Category Specialists.
• Maintain supplier relationships, oversee contract renewals, conduct performance reviews and resolve compliance issues.
• Track and report category KPIs, savings and supplier performance; identify and implement process improvements, including AI and automation.
• Present category strategies and results to senior management and collaborate with internal stakeholders to align with business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance or a related field.
• Professional certification (CIPS, CPSM or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or large manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of contracting and procurement financial aspects.
