Senior Duty Engineer

About the role

The Senior Duty Engineer will lead the engineering team at Banana Island Resort Doha, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and related systems operate safely and efficiently. You will be the primary point of contact for guest engineering issues and will oversee daily maintenance activities across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily hotel engineering and maintenance operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, generator and water systems.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and guest room complaints.
• Assign tasks and lead engineering technicians during each shift.
• Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are completed on time and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct regular inspections of plant rooms, guest rooms, public areas and equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with contractors.
• Maintain compliance with hotel safety standards and local regulations.
• Support energy‑saving and cost‑control initiatives and assist during audits and inspections.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems.
• Ability to lead technicians and manage contractors.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and local safety regulations.
