Senior Dynamic Positioning Officer (SDPO)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Dynamic Positioning Officer (SDPO) to operate and monitor the DP system on offshore vessels, ensuring safe and efficient manoeuvring during offshore activities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the Dynamic Positioning (DP) system during all offshore operations.
• Identify and respond to DP alarms, failures and emergency situations.
• Assist the Master and Chief Officer with emergency response, safety inductions and implementation of company policies and the Safety Management System.
• Support the Ship Security Officer with vessel security arrangements while in port.
• Monitor weather, sea conditions, traffic and operational risks.
• Mentor and develop Junior DP Officers and other crew members.
• Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks and safety meetings to promote a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Certificate of Competency (CoC) as per STCW Regulation II/1.
• Flag state certificate of equivalent competency (if applicable).
• DP Certified – unlimited.
• Valid offshore medical certificate.
• Training and certification in accordance with the TOL Training Matrices.

• Maritime emergency response and security coordination.
