Senior ELV Pre-Sales & Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior ELV Pre‑Sales & Design Engineer to lead the design and technical support of CCTV and Access Control Systems for projects in Qatar. The role involves translating client requirements into detailed system designs, preparing proposals, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review RFQs, tender documents, drawings, specifications and client requirements.
• Develop detailed designs for CCTV and ACS, including device layouts, riser diagrams, schematics, system architecture and integration concepts.
• Perform calculations for CCTV storage, bandwidth, camera coverage, ACS door schedules, controller sizing, UPS/power and network requirements.
• Prepare technical proposals, BOQs, cost sheets, compliance statements, supplier comparisons and value‑engineered options.
• Validate designs against MOI‑SSD requirements, client specifications and project standards.
• Technically and commercially evaluate supplier quotations.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions and assumptions prior to submission.
• Support sales teams during client meetings, technical discussions and proposal presentations.
• Produce technical submittals, method statements, system descriptions and respond to consultant/client comments.
• Assist project hand‑over by explaining design basis, scope, BOQ, assumptions and exclusions.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of ELV/security systems experience, preferably in Qatar.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in CCTV, ACS and integrated ELV/security system design with estimation capability.
• In‑depth knowledge of MOI‑SSD requirements and approval processes.
• Proficiency in reading tender and IFC drawings, specifications and consultant requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for client meetings, consultant clarifications and sales support.
• Relevant certifications such as UPDA/MMUP registration, MOI DSA/DIA inspection experience, VMS or ACS vendor certifications, structured cabling or CCNA are a plus.

Required skills

• CCTV system design, camera selection and coverage analysis.
• Access Control System (ACS) design, controller and reader configuration.
• Video Management Systems (Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, HikCentral) and NVR/server‑storage sizing.
• Structured cabling design and network infrastructure planning.
• Excel for BOQ, cost sheets, supplier comparison and margin analysis.
• AutoCAD, Visio and MS Office.
• Familiarity with major brands: Axis, Hikvision, Avigilon, Lenel, Honeywell.
• Knowledge of storage solutions (Dell, HPE, RAID) and basic networking (CCNA).
