Senior Food Safety & Hygiene Manager

About the role

The Senior Food Safety & Hygiene Manager will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of food safety management systems across all catering operations in Qatar and the GCC. Reporting to the Operations Director, this role ensures compliance with international standards, local regulations and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain FSMS based on HACCP principles and ISO 22000.
• Conduct internal audits, manage external audits and oversee corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop cleaning, sanitation and pest‑control programs and monitor personal hygiene compliance.
• Lead and mentor Food Safety Officers, Hygiene Supervisors and Quality Inspectors.
• Investigate food safety incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and produce incident reports.
• Evaluate and approve suppliers, conduct supplier audits and ensure material compliance.
• Maintain all food safety records, prepare performance reports and present findings to senior management.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and support digitalisation of quality monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Public Health, Nutrition or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10–15 years of experience in food safety, hygiene and quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale catering or food production operations.

Required skills

• HACCP certification (mandatory).
• ISO 22000 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification (preferred).
• NEBOSH, IOSH or Food Safety Level 4 certification (advantageous).
• Expertise in Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) and CAPA processes.
