Senior Geophysicist Manager – Lead Seismic Interpretation

About the role

The Senior Geophysicist Manager will lead the geophysical team in delivering high‑quality seismic interpretation and reservoir characterization to support hydrocarbon exploration, appraisal and field development in Qatar. The role combines technical expertise with people management, ensuring that prospect generation and risk assessment are aligned with corporate objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead interpretation of 2D, 3D and 4D seismic data using Kingdom, Petrel and other platforms.
• Identify, evaluate and mature exploration prospects and drilling opportunities.
• Perform seismic attribute analysis, AVO and inversion studies for reservoir characterization.
• Oversee seismic acquisition, processing and re‑processing projects.
• Integrate geophysical, geological, petrophysical and reservoir data for comprehensive models.
• Mentor and manage a multidisciplinary geoscience team.
• Contribute to reserves evaluation, field development planning and asset assessments.
• Provide technical recommendations to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geology or Earth Sciences; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of upstream oil & gas experience, including exploration and development projects.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.
