Senior Industrial Control Systems Security Engineer

About the role

Airswift is seeking a Senior ICS Security Engineer to support a major oil & gas company in Qatar. The role focuses on implementing and sustaining cybersecurity measures for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of ICS modifications, review system and network architecture designs, and ensure compliance with security engineering specifications.
• Participate in risk assessments, technology evaluations, deviation requests, and disaster recovery plan simulations.
• Investigate security incidents, conduct root‑cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Validate brownfield control system changes through Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and coordinate handover to operations.
• Provide technical guidance to ICS Security Custodians and technicians, and lead periodic self‑assessments of security compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in oil & gas operations with a focus on OT security.
• Proven ability to lead security issue resolution and drive improvement.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Industrial Control Systems (ICS) security expertise in OT environments.
• Knowledge of IDS/IPS, SIEM, networking and security tools.
• Familiarity with IEC, ANSI/ISA and API RP standards.
• Experience with risk assessments, FAT/SAT, and DRP simulations.
