Senior Manager – Compliance & Regulatory

About the role

As Senior Manager – Compliance & Regulatory, you will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Qatar Airways Group’s compliance framework across the organisation. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure adherence to a wide range of laws and internal standards, including anti‑bribery, AML, sanctions, export controls and competition regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the Group‑wide compliance programme, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards and internal policies.
• Develop, maintain and monitor compliance frameworks, governance structures and risk‑management initiatives.
• Identify emerging regulatory risks and formulate forward‑looking mitigation strategies.
• Create, update and manage compliance policies, standards, procedures and guidance materials.
• Provide expert advisory support on legal and regulatory matters across the Group.
• Integrate compliance considerations into contracts, business processes and operational decisions.
• Direct internal investigations of misconduct, regulatory breaches and third‑party concerns.
• Liaise with external regulatory bodies and government authorities as required.
• Lead compliance audits, analyse findings and ensure effective remediation.
• Prepare high‑quality compliance reports for senior leadership, the Board and Executive Management.
• Design and deliver a comprehensive compliance training and awareness programme.
• Promote a culture of ethics, integrity and accountability across all business units.
• Coordinate with Legal, IT, HR, Risk and other functions to ensure cohesive compliance operations.
• Manage supplier and third‑party compliance risks, including due diligence, sanctions, export controls, AML and ABC requirements.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of compliance professionals to achieve high performance and service excellence.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in compliance, regulatory affairs or related fields within a large, complex organisation.
• Proven ability to anticipate regulatory changes and provide strategic guidance to senior executives.
• Strong investigative and audit oversight skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Leadership experience managing and developing compliance teams.
• Eligibility to work in Qatar as a Qatari national.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of anti‑bribery and corruption (ABC) regulations.
• Understanding of anti‑money laundering (AML) and sanctions/export control frameworks.
• Experience with third‑party due diligence and governance processes.
