Senior Planning Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Manager to lead planning and scheduling across major construction projects. The role involves directing a planning team, developing strategies, and ensuring project timelines align with contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the project planning team, providing strategic direction.
• Develop, implement, and monitor planning strategies and best practices.
• Create and maintain detailed schedules covering design, procurement, construction, and completion.
• Monitor progress, analyse schedules, and produce accurate forecasts and reports.
• Coordinate planning matters with project managers, subcontractors, consultants, and authorities.
• Review subcontractor schedules, identify slippages and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyse alternative schedules and recovery plans for project changes or unforeseen events.
• Maintain baseline and contractual schedules in line with obligations.
• Support cost control, EOT claims, delay analysis and overall project performance monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements and industry standards.
• Contribute to HSE initiatives and safety awareness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory planning role.
• Experience in GCC projects is an advantage (minimum 2 years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of EPC, engineering, procurement, contracts and construction execution processes.
• Familiarity with construction law, change management and local/international standards.
• Professional registration (MMUP Engineer – UPDA) or PMP certification preferred.
