Senior Radiation Safety Officer (Arabic Speaker)

About the role

QatarEnergy is looking for a Senior Radiation Safety Officer based in Doha who speaks Arabic. The role advises on and develops effective safety strategies, standards and procedures for radiation safety, and oversees their implementation so that risks from radiation sources across QatarEnergy are kept as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP), comply with statutory and corporate requirements and follow industry best practice.

Required profile

• BSc/BEng degree in Engineering or Science.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in radiation safety.
• At least 5 years in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry, including managing radiation safety.
• Valid Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) licence according to national requirements.
• Knowledge of Arabic is essential; excellent verbal and written English.

Required skills

• Chartered Safety Professional (CSP) credential or equivalent international certification (e.g. NEBOSH International General Certificate or Diploma) is preferable.
• Ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders and lead and motivate teams.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and collaborate across teams.
• Analytical skills: recognizing trends, assessing risks and identifying root causes.
• Sound judgment in problem solving and decision making on complex radiation safety matters.
• Excellent report writing skills.
