Senior Safety Officer – Marine & Logistics (Contracts)

About the role

The Senior Safety Officer will ensure the implementation of QatarEnergy's HSE management system across the Marine and Logistics departments. This role provides expert HSE advice, identifies significant hazards, and drives controls to meet strategic HSE objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the HSE management system for marine and logistics operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for project and operational activities.
• Provide HSE guidance and support to marine crews, logistics teams, and project stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with QatarEnergy and regulatory HSE requirements.
• Prepare and present technical HSE reports and documentation.
• Coordinate incident investigations and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• More than 13 years of HSE experience, including at least 5 years in marine operations and 8 years in offshore oil & gas or petrochemical environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline.
• Relevant HSE certifications from recognized bodies (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISO).
• Proven leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Technical report writing.
• Proficiency with computer programs for HSE data management.
• Implementation of HSE management systems.
