Senior Safety Technician

About the role

QatarEnergy is looking for a Senior Safety Technician in Ras Laffan. The role covers safety inspections across the Industrial Directorate and contractors, including operational areas and project sites, and supporting the permit-to-work system.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all work areas of the Industrial Directorate and contractors, including operational areas and project worksites.
• Provide recommendations and control measures against observed HSE violations in line with established HSE policies, procedures and regulations.
• Assist in managing the HSE aspects of the RLIC or MIC Permit To Work (PTW) system to ensure compliance with QatarEnergy HSE standards and regulations.

Required profile

• 12 years of completed education.
• Higher National Certificate in Engineering, Safety or Science, or an equivalent recognized international safety certificate such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
• 6 years of relevant practical experience as a safety practitioner, preferably in oil, gas or petrochemical environments.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or manufacturing.
• Attended a safety management course; knowledge of safety training is highly desirable.
• Valid driving licence.

• Ability to analyse data, interpret results and communicate them.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and administration skills, and comfort in a multinational environment.
