Site Selection & Expansion Senior Manager

About the role

Syntys is seeking a senior professional to lead the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of hyperscale‑ready data centre sites across the MENA region. Reporting to the Vice President – Infrastructure & Site Selection, you will own the full technical site‑selection lifecycle, from market screening to development readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Screen and shortlist greenfield, brownfield and powered‑shell sites that meet hyperscale, AI and cloud requirements.
• Develop long‑term market expansion strategies aligned with hyperscaler demand, latency and regional digital‑infrastructure plans.
• Maintain an active land bank and nurture relationships with developers, investment funds, industrial zones, government agencies and real‑estate partners.
• Conduct technical and commercial assessments covering power, transmission, fiber, water, environmental constraints, zoning and constructability.
• Score and rank sites based on utility proximity, infrastructure readiness and regulatory ease, providing go/no‑go recommendations to senior leadership.
• Prepare early modular or hybrid concept designs and feasibility tests for shortlisted locations.
• Coordinate with utilities, telecom operators, planning authorities, landowners, consultants and internal engineering teams to ensure sites meet Syntys’ technical, commercial and operational criteria.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data‑centre or large‑scale infrastructure site selection and acquisition.
• Strong knowledge of power transmission, fiber connectivity, water supply and environmental regulations in the MENA region.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage a land bank and to negotiate with public and private stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills with a track record of delivering investment‑grade site assessments.
• Senior‑level leadership and communication skills to influence cross‑functional teams and external partners.
